Advisors Learn Life Lessons From the Most Stirring Keynote Speakers
Nearly 10 years ago, Brian Heckert of Financial Solutions Midwest heard a speaker pose a question that has stayed with him to this day. Heckert, an advisor in Nashville, Ill., was attending a Million Dollar Round Table event when Tom Hegna, a retirement planning expert, asked the crowd, "Do you remember who your great-grandparents are by name?"
"Very few people raised their hands," Heckert recalled. "He then made the point that if we as advisors help clients create a legacy (for their heirs), then they'll not only know your name but remember everything about you because they'll get a check from the legacy you created."
