Working at Kestra Financial
With over 20 years of leadership experience in human resources, it’s safe to say I’ve seen my share of companies and employees. However, I’ve never experienced a place quite like Kestra Financial. Born and raised in Austin, TX, Kestra Financial is as innovative and unique as the city in which it is headquartered.
Below are a few of the many reasons our firm is special:
Culture: Empowering advisor success is at the heart of everything we do, but what drives that mission is the innovative spirit of our employees and firm culture. From the top down, everyone is passionate and working hard to make Kestra Financial the best it can be, unafraid to take chances and color outside the lines to build a great organization.
The happiness and success of our employees is so valuable that we deploy a survey each June to collect their feedback. These responses fuel the design and implementation of our cultural activities, training, and ongoing development initiatives.
We also make it a point to regularly reward our employees for their hard work and dedication to the company’s success. KestraConnect, an employee-led committee responsible for these efforts, arranges social activities like quarterly lunches, potlucks, employee appreciation days, happy hours, and community service events. We also host an annual wellness fair complete with chair massages, yoga, healthy snacks, flu shots, and more.
All of these efforts result in a real comradery across the various departments in the company.
Learning: At its core, Kestra Financial is a learning organization. Education is a key pillar of our management philosophy and fully-supported by our executive team. As part of our commitment to making continuous learning a key staple at the firm, we hired Barbara Whitted as our Vice President of Learning and Development. Barbara oversees the education program across all levels of our organization, including leadership development for our Vice Presidents and professional development for our Supervisors and Associate Vice Presidents.
Growth: Truly, the only constant for us at Kestra Financial is change. We’re always looking to evolve. With this mentality as our guide, we’ve implemented SOAR, a rewards program that managers use to incentivize their teams by offering recognition through a points system We also recognize our employees through a firm-wide system known as Nest in which promotions, new hires, and anniversaries are announced to celebrate growth. In 2017 alone, 39 out of our 234 employees were promoted.
From marketing to technology to finance, our employees are at the heart of everything we do here at Kestra Financial. If you’re interested in learning more about our firm and how you could join our growing team, click here.
